When viewed from the front of the base, the LED lighting unit is snapped onto the base along the rear, with the LED in the lower-left corner. As the lighting unit is snapped onto the rear of the base, it is immediately connected. This illuminates the following circuits: single-pole, two-way, normally open pushbutton, normally open or normally closed pushbutton, and cross. When the lighting unit is snapped onto a two-pole switch, it provides a control function. The automatic LED lighting unit is made of a polyamide housing. The white light is produced by a very low-power LED (0.2 W). It is shock-resistant and does not dissipate heat. The LED has a lifespan of at least 50,000 hours.
